2D COMMERCIAL

Stage Settings: The Grateful Dead
When The Grateful Dead needed concert backdrops that were large, lightweight, and beautiful, they came to PTS.
Restaurant Decoration: Spago
Wolfgang Puck is a perfectionist--in everything, not just food. So when Spago opened in Palo Alto, Wolfgang was happy to have interior decorations from PTS.
Advertising Banners: Stanford University
Stanford University's athletic department wanted to advertise their sponsors. Sewn banners from PTS made a stadium-sized statement quickly, easily, and at an extremely low price.
Interior Decoration: Great Mall of America
How do you create a believable setting for an airplane suspended inside the Great Mall of America? You ask PTS to build you some clouds.
Decorative Banners: Stanford Shopping Center
Stanford Shopping Center is renowned in retail circles as a triumph of design. They wanted PTS to create their decorative banners.

2D INDUSTRIAL

Factory Wall: M&D Balloon
Textile, or not textile? That was the question for a company that had to subdivide a gigantic warehouse space to simplify construction of promotional balloons. They looked at the costs and the timelines for three different strategies and chose textiles from PTS.
Soffit Wall: Global Automation
Another textile wall solution, this time for a company that wanted a soffit built to hide a complex of ductwork. Why not use wood and wallboard? Because textile was faster, less expensive, and every bit as pleasing aesthetically.
Clean Room Wall: Prudential
This was a horrifically complex job. PTS had to design and build a gasket wall to maintain clean room specs on both sides of a wall interrupted by the opening for a piece of heavy machinery that oscillated twelve inches horizontally and four inches vertically. We did it but don't try this at home.

2D MEDICAL/SCIENTIFIC

MRI Patient Support Straps: Resonex
PTS can also work to medical and scientific specifications. In this case, Resonex came to us with a request for straps to support patients limbs and scan equipment during early MRI scans.

2D MILSPEC

Solid Rocket Booster Restraints: Morton Thiokol
After ice build-up caused the Challenger disaster, NASA determined that the joints in the solid-rocket boosters required heating elements. Morton Thiokol contracted with PTS to build a set of Kevlar straps to position those elements during takeoff a good example of just how strong a textile solution can be.
High-Altitude-Camera Calibration Target: Lockheed Martin
How do you calibrate a camera from the top of the ionosphere? You give it something extremely large and extremely precise to focus on. Lockheed Martin had worked with PTS before, and wanted us to build this target. The photo shows what a huge job it was.
